Dr Paton is an advocate of minimally invasive surgical techniques to minimise surgical trauma and support faster tissue recovery and healing.

Dr Paton was awarded his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1993. After serving for five years in the Royal Australian Navy as a medical officer he studied dentistry at the University of Adelaide and was awarded his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2001. He received a University Medal for academic excellence.

Dr Paton did two years of Basic Surgical Training through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons before going on to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Royal Brisbane Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Mater Hospital in Queensland. He was admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2005 and was awarded the Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons fellowship medal for the highest result in the FRACDS(OMS) examination.

Following 12 months in private practice on the Sunshine Coast with consultant posts at both the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital and Logan Hospital, Greg accepted an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery fellowship position in Ireland. This was followed by an appointment to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne as the inaugural Stryker Orthognathic Fellow. During this year he gained extensive experience in corrective jaw surgery, which is now his area of special interest along with dental implant surgery.
