Dr King Wong is a general surgeon who specialises in hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease. After graduating from Adelaide University in 2004 and completing his General Surgical training at St George Hospital (Sydney) and John Hunter Hospital (Newcastle), he obtained his fellowship in General Surgery in 2011. He was the Upper GIT / Bariatric fellow here at the John Flynn Hospital and The Tweed Hospital in 2012. He then obtained a formal ANZHPBA fellowship at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2013, then Flinders Medical Centre (Adelaide) in 2014 as the HPB and Liver transplant fellow, where he gained experience in both open and laparoscopic liver and pancreas surgery, as well as complex biliary surgery.

He has interests not only in all aspects of hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease, but also in open and laparoscopic abdominal hernia surgery as well as bariatric surgery. In combination with the other members of the multi-disciplinary team of the John Flynn and Tweed hospitals, he hopes to provide an efficient and complete service for the patients of the Northern Rivers / Tweed Heads region as well as patients of the south Gold Coast.

Dr Wong consults at John Flynn Private Hospital and has theatre privileges at John Flynn Private Hospital, Gold Coast Surgical Hospital, Tweed Hospital and Murwillimbah Hospital.
